Mathieu Vrijsen President DuPont Europe, Middle East and Africa
Mathieu Vrijsen is president, DuPont Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Mr. Vrijsen joined DuPont in 1973 in Den Bosch (Netherlands) and held several positions in manufacturing, marketing and
planning in various countries in Europe and North America. He returned from the United States in 1982 to become manufacturing director and subsequently site manager at Den Bosch. After two
years at the DuPont Dordrecht (Netherlands) site, he became managing director and works director at DuPont Luxembourg in 1992.
He moved to the DuPont European headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1996 as vice president, Operations and Human
Resources Europe, and was appointed president, DuPont Europe in February 1998. In January 2001, he assumed the additional responsibility of interim leader of Corporate Human Resources until August 2001.
Mr. Vrijsen is a member of the board and of the executive committee of CEFIC (the European
chemical industry association), the board of EuropaBio (the European association of bio industries), the European-American Industry Council, the Swiss-American Chamber of
Commerce and the International Institute for Management Development (IMD).
