How To Join

Information for prospective BGLAD members

WHO CAN JOIN:

Membership in BGLAD is open to employees of DuPont and its affiliates, joint ventures, and subsidiaries, who are bisexual, gay, lesbian, or transgendered, or who support bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgender concerns.  Members who are not bisexual, gay, lesbian, or transgendered are called "Allies." Allies can choose to be "Supporters" or "Advocates." "Supporters" and "Advocates" are defined in the Bylaws as follows:

"SUPPORTERS shall provide emotional support to members and continue to learn about issues of concern to people who are bisexual, gay, lesbian, or transgendered, and educate others.

"ADVOCATES perform the same functions as Supporters but in addition they:

• Are available to intervene on members' behalf
• Exercise their influence
• Commit time to BGLAD activities and events
• Visibly work to advance the mission of BGLAD
• Publicly speak out on behalf of people who are bisexual, gay, lesbian, or transgendered"

HOW TO JOIN:

In order to make the network safe for those bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgendered employees who do not want their sexual orientation or gender identity to be known in the workplace, we require all members to sign a confidentiality agreement.  The purpose of the agreement is to make all members aware of the unique confidentiality issues of this network. Once you have signed and returned the agreement, your name will be added to the BGLAD distribution list. You may either:

(1)   Print a hard copy of the agreement (PDF format), sign it and send to:

(2)  Fill out the agreement electronically by clicking on one of the following formats. If you are able to open the document, edit it as required then save the edited version to a convenient folder.

Once edited and saved, create an email message using one of the addresses provided below and simply attach the edited document (e-mail received from your account "counts" as having your signature):

Please be aware that, while the names of BGLAD members are NOT revealed to anyone OUTSIDE the network, the names of Ally members are occasionally published WITHIN the network. If you are joining as an Ally, you must be willing to be identified to members of the network. If you are B, G, L, or T, your name will be kept confidential even within the network, unless you request otherwise.
