BGLAD (Bisexuals, Gays, Lesbians, Transgendered and Allies at DuPont) was recognized by DuPont as an employee network in November
1991. Tim Koob has been a member of the network from its inception. He said "Faith Wohl's recognition and support of BGLAD in 1991 and the amendment of the nondiscrimination statement
in 1992 were the events that made me feel a part of the DuPont Company. Finally, I could look at the DuPont Core Value statements and know that they included me. I certainly am proud of
what BGLAD has accomplished over the past 15 years and am grateful for having the chance to contribute to this success."
BGLAD'S vision is to realize the maximum potential of bisexual, gay, lesbian and transgendered employees to enhance DuPont's
competitive advantage in the global markets. Gayle Gibson, Network Liaison said "Fundamentally, I feel our purpose is twofold: to serve the network and to champion improvement of the work
environment in DuPont so that all BGLTs can be comfortable to be themselves at work and bring their whole self to work."
BGLAD has been instrumental in helping DuPont attract, utilize, and retain talented bisexual, gay, lesbian, and
transgendered people by working with the company on such issues as the inclusion of sexual orientation and gender identity/expression in the Dupont nondiscrimination statement and the offering of
Domestic Partner Benefits to US employees. These changes have resulted in DuPont receiving a 100 on the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index .
Membership in BGLAD is open to all DuPont full-service employees worldwide who are advocates of the DuPont nondiscrimination
statement and global valuing people principles.
